CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ga. — A central Georgia community is mourning the loss of a 12-year-old boy killed in a tragic accident over the weekend.
Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker says deputies were called to Echeconnee Motocross on Saturday morning in reference to a person being injured during a race.

Dalton Hill, 12, was rushed to Atrium Navient Health Macon where he later died from his injuries.
Investigators have not commented on the accident that led up to the boy’s death.

“We are deeply heartbroken by the passing of a member of our Motocross family, Dalton Hill, at this weekend’s race. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with Dalton’s family and friends. Please wrap your arms around the Hill Family and everyone affected by this tragic accident,” employees of the motocross track wrote in a statement.

The community has also started a GoFundMe campaign to help support the boy’s family. So far, it has raised more than $36,000.
