ATLANTA — Investigators believe a man who was found dead on Interstate 75 was involved in a road rage shootout.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Damari Xavien Jordan. It did not release his cause of death.
The latest developments in the investigation, LIVE on Channel 2 Action News starting at 4:00 p.m.
Around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, Atlanta officers patrolling on I-75 northbound near Northside Drive NW found a 21-year-old man lying in the road. Jordan was pronounced dead at the scene.
Atlanta Police called Georgia State Patrol to help investigate.

According to GSP, a road rage incident escalated into a shooting between two drivers in a silver car and Ford pickup truck. GSP said the car driver got out and walked toward the truck driver.
The two drivers then exchanged gunfire.
The 21-year-old driver was then hit by an unknown vehicle that drove away from the scene, GSP said. Shortly thereafter, an APD patrol vehicle traveling northbound also hit the driver.

Atlanta police are currently investigating the road rage incident, the shooting, and the initial crash.
Meanwhile, the GSP is handling the investigation into the subsequent crashes involving the hit-and-run vehicle and the APD patrol car.
