Channel 2’s Brittany Kleinpeter is on the scene and sees police tape blocking off a portion of a home’s backyard and what appears to be a pool.
Police say the child died from her injuries.
Investigators say it appears to have been accidental.
Neighbors told Kleinpeter that the people living in the home had only been there a few months.
“They’ve only been there less than eight or nine months. They haven’t been there very long. I see a lot of the kids playing sometimes out there, playing in the backyard,” one neighbor said.
Kleinpeter spoke with a worker with a pest control company who was coming to the home to perform services this afternoon.
He said he was at the home on Friday night when he helped a young woman sign up for the service.
He said the pool appeared discolored and not used.
There is no word on what led up to the drowning.
