Neighbors in a Southwest Atlanta community want answers after someone shot an 11-year-old boy in the head.
Investigators told Channel 2’s Michael Seiden that the child remains in critical condition.
“I’m not scared or nothing, but I’ve been praying over everyone because there’s so much going on,” said Zya Harris, a neighbor. “It’s a lot.”

Harris, who calls The Square at Peoplestown home, said she never heard the gunshot but knew something was wrong as soon as she walked outside of her apartment on Hank Aaron Drive.
“There was three or four cop cars down here at the beginning of the gate,” she said. “There was some right here and they were walking around trying to find bullet evidence.”
Atlanta police say officers responded to a first-floor unit around 6:36 p.m. Tuesday, where they found an 11-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his head.
Investigators have not said if someone shot him or if it was a self-inflicted wound.
But Channel 2 cameras were rolling Tuesday night when officers appeared to recover a gun from the bushes.
Police have not confirmed if it’s the same gun that injured the child.
Investigators with the aggravated assault unit responded to the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
