ATLANTA — Police have arrested a driver they say took off from a traffic stop and crashed into an apartment complex in Buckhead on Tuesday night.
It happened at the Core at Lindbergh Apartments just before 9 p.m.
“I happened to be home. I heard the sirens of the police cars running by. I heard a big crash, and I came downstairs and I seen a car inside the home of the first-floor apartment,” Jobori Cooke, who lives nearby, told WSB Tonight at 11 p.m.
Police said they were trying to pull a Jeep over in the area, but the driver refused to stop.
Officers said the driver lost control, hit another vehicle, and slammed into the apartment.

Officers arrested the driver. Two passengers in the SUV and a woman inside the apartment were all hospitalized.
“I’m really worried about the neighbor,” Cooke said. “I heard she’s in the hospital. She was on the couch, relaxing, and a car crashed into her home.”
Channel 2 Action News is working to learn what prompted the traffic stop and the name of the driver arrested.
