Mosi Nurdeen’s Tesla was first booted because he had not updated his car registration, which he promptly corrected after paying a $75 fine.

However, despite showing proof of his updated registration, his car was booted again the following morning.

“These booting companies, they’re like vultures. They come around. They’re always hawking and stalking,” Nurdeen said.

Police arrived at the scene after about three hours and cited the employee for operating without a valid permit. They ordered him to remove the boot from Nurdeen’s car.

“It gave me a little bit of empowerment to know that there are rights in place for us,” Nurdeen said.

Attempts to reach Star Parking Services for comment were unsuccessful as of Friday afternoon.
