Parked Delta plane hit by another aircraft while waiting on tarmac

SEATTLE — A minor accident between two planes caused a temporary flight disruption.

The incident happened at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for Delta Air Lines told Channel 2 Action News a Japan Airlines plane that was taxiing on the tarmac hit the tail of a parked Delta plane.

The Delta flight was coming from Seattle, headed to Puerto Vallarta.

While there were 142 passengers on board, there were no reports of injuries. Passengers were booked on a new plane.

The Atlanta-based airline says it’s working with aviation stakeholders to investigate.
