Channel 2’s Michael Seiden sat down with the hip hop superstar on Channel 2 Action News at 6 p.m. She and her legal team discussed what they are calling a misguided investigation.
GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, was in Indianapolis performing during the WNBA All-Star Weekend when three armed intruders broke into her Forsyth County home in the middle of the night.
A family member shot at the burglars, but they ran away before the police arrived.
“I feel like me, and my brother and sister, we were victims in this situation,” she said. “But somehow, they’re trying to paint us out to be suspects, and I just feel like it’s all the way wrong.”
According to court documents, investigators found a significant amount of marijuana when they searched the home, and she was charged with felony possession.
“Over $700,000 of items were stolen from her home, and so her brother and sister naturally called the police when this was all going on,” Woods’ attorney Drew Findling said.

She voluntarily surrendered and was released on bond the same day.
“The most egregious part is that there seems to be no movement whatsoever in this home invasion, but rather, within 24 hours, there were warrants for her arrest for a marijuana possession case. That’s unconscionable,” Findling said.
On Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 2 Action News that this remains an active investigation, and the evidence from the home invasion/burglary is still pending testing at the GBI.
Back in July, the sheriff put out a statement saying that Woods and her family were the victims of a serious crime and vowed to get justice for them.
The rapper and her legal team say they are considering their own investigation.
