Secoriea was shot and killed on July 4, 2020, at University Avenue and Pryor Road in Atlanta. The incident occurred amid protests over the killing of Rayshard Brooks.

Channel 2’s Audrey Washington was in the courtroom as the trial unfolded.

“I grabbed her, she was like, ‘Ma.’ And then, um, and that’s when I started feeling her, trying to see what was wrong,” Charmaine Turner said in her testimony.

Omar Ivey, the driver of the SUV Turner was in, testified about encountering a barricade and armed men on the night of the shooting.

During the trial, the court heard a diturbing 911 call made just seconds after the shooting. The call, made by Ivey, captured the urgency of the situation as he drove the SUV to the hospital.

Prosecutors presented surveillance video evidence showing Conley wearing a red shirt on the night of the incident. Witnesses were questioned about the shooter’s attire as part of the investigation.

Bodycam video that captured the moments hospital workers tried to save Secoriea’s life also was shown for the first time in court.

Several family members becoming overwhelmed and needing to leave the courtroom during testimony.
