All lanes of Interstate 75 have reopened after police activity shut down traffic in both directions for hours.
Triple Team Traffic’s Mike Shields followed the closures throughout Channel 2 Action News This Morning.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. near Exit 285 for Red Top Mountain Road.
Georgia State Patrol says a Land Rover SUV was fleeing from Cobb County police. The Cobb officer ultimately performed a PIT maneuver on the SUV in Bartow County.
The car overturned over the cable barrier and landed in the southbound lanes of I-75.

Investigators initially closed I-75 in both directions, but reopened the northbound side around 5:07 a.m. The southbound lanes reopened just before 6:30 a.m.
GSP confirmed that the driver, 40-year-old Benjamin Alstoft from Woodstock, was thrown from the SUV and killed.
