The crash involved a white Toyota Camry, a white Chevrolet Suburban, a black Chevrolet Silverado and another car that left the scene, GSP said.

The crash started in the northbound lanes of I-75 when a white passenger car struck the Camry, causing it to collide with the Suburban.

The Camry and the Suburban then veered into the median and crossed into the southbound lanes through the cable barrier, where the Suburban overturned and hit the Silverado.

A 7-year-old boy ejected from the Silverado during the crash and was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for treatment. Three other people involved in the crash were taken to Kennestone Hospital with injuries.

The white passenger car that struck the Camry and started the chain of events continued traveling north on I-75, GSP said.

The investigation is still ongoing. Troopers are searching for the hit-and-run driver.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed for approximately three hours as emergency services responded to the scene and cleared the wreckage.
