CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A metro Atlanta school employee is under investigation after she was arrested for burglary and theft.

Cherokee County School District sent a letter to families of Sixes Elementary students, following the arrest of Sara Gorman.
The release stated that Gorman was arrested on burglary and theft charges.
School officials say the alleged incidents are unrelated to the Cherokee County School District.
Once the district became aware of the allegations, Gorman was placed on administrative leave, pending the outcome of internal and law enforcement investigations.
According to the school’s website, Gorman is a Kindergarten teacher.

The school district said maintaining students’ and staff’s safety and security is its top priority.
“Inappropriate conduct will never be tolerated,” Cherokee County School District said.
