Man wanted in connection to string of organized retail crime around metro Atlanta

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Have you seen him? Deputies are searching for a 50-year-old man involved in a string of organized retail crimes.

George Frank Mayo, 50, was last seen in Chattanooga, Tenn. on October 6, 2023, before running away from police.

Cherokee County officials said Mayo is wanted in connection with a string of organized retail crime incidents around metro Atlanta.

Mayo is described as being six feet tall, and weighing 210 pounds. Authorities say Mayo has tattoos on both arms, chest and back. He also has a scar on his arm.

Authorities said the 50-year-old has a history of obstructing law enforcement and will try to run away if confronted. Deputies ask you to use caution as Mayo has a prior history of violence, and Canton police investigated that case.

He currently has warrants in several metro Atlanta counties including, Cherokee, Gwinnett, Cook, Douglas, Forsyth, Cobb, Hall, Fulton, and DeKalb counties. Mayo also has warrants out of Louisiana including Baton Rouge and Lafayette Parrish and the state of New Jersey.
