ATHENS, Ga. — Police in Clarke County are investigating a deadly crash involving a 78-year-old man and a teenager.

According to police, the crash happened Friday, just before 10:30 p.m. in the area of N. Thomas Street and E. Washington Street.
Officers said the driver, 31-year-old Heather Turner, of Hoschton, Ga. failed to yield and hit two people.
Guy Jones, 78, of Woodstock, died from his injuries on the way to the hospital. Sean Helms, 18, of Woodstock had visible injuries and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
No word on Helms’ current condition.

Clarke County officials said Turner was uninjured. Turner was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and one count of homicide by vehicle (second-degree).
