Driver arrested after crash, truck fire that shut down I-75 in Clayton County for hours

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A driver is being charged after an early morning crash and truck fire shut down Interstate 75 for several hours.

The southbound lanes of I-75 were blocked near Tara Blvd. in Clayton County around 3:00 a.m.

Clayton County police say they found two vehicles fully engulfed in flames when they got there.

Those inside were able to get out of the vehicles and reported only minor injuries.

At 7 a.m., the truck was cleared and the interstate reopened.

Police say one of the drivers was arrested and charged in relation to the accident. The driver and the exact charges were not confirmed.

No fatalities were reported.

The crash remains under investigation.
