CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Sources confirm to Channel 2 Action News that police believe they have found the body of a 6-month-old baby who had been reported missing.
Police returned to the apartment complex on Tuesday evening, where they believe the 6-month-old baby disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
Channel 2’s Tom Jones was there as police placed crime scene tape around a dumpster and parts of a wooded area near the apartment complex where baby Nnakai Pratt disappeared from.

Jones said he saw investigators place a tarp over something in that wooded area.
The child’s father, Antonio Pearce, lives in an apartment near there and reported him missing Sunday morning.
Investigators identified Pearce as a suspect in Nnakai’s disappearance, and he was arrested on unrelated charges.
Police told Jones they were examining the evidence they have collected, and that would determine where they would search next.
Officials also have talked to neighbors and checked around dumpsters.
In the meantime, the chairwoman of the Clayton County Commission asked anyone who knows what happened to get in touch with police.

“Clayton County: Let’s work together,” said Chairwoman Alieka Anderson Henry. “Let’s buckle down. Let’s find this child. Because that child is out there somewhere, and we need to know what happened.
Henry says it pains her every moment Nnakai isn’t found, and she says the baby’s disappearance also weighs heavily on the community.
Police say Nnakai’s father told them he was robbed by gunmen who took the child, but investigators found physical evidence that led them to believe foul play was involved.
Neighbors are hoping and praying Nnakai is found healthy.
“I’m still hoping a relative will call and say they got the baby, but nobody’s called yet,” Meshia Sikes said.
The chairwoman says she is a mother, and she can’t imagine a 6-month-old missing this long.
“It’s disheartening, and it’s very much heartbreaking to know that this child has been missing for three days now,” Henry said.
