CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has obtained video showing three young men identified as persons of interest in the murder of a Clayton County man in July.
The three men have not been identified and police are hoping someone recognizes them to help bring some closure to the family of Jamari Richardson, who may have information about who killed him.
“My heart just broke. I couldn’t deal. These past seven months have been so hard and traumatic for my family. And I just want justice for my son. I wanna know why they did this to my baby,” Richardson’s mother Chenek Snow said.
Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne obtained surveillance video of three men seen at the Villa Cottages Apartment complex off of Mount Zion Road in Clayton County who are now considered to be people of interest in Richardson’s killing.
Lt. Ricky Porter of the Clayton County Police Department said one of the three may be known on the street as “Scar.”
“You believe the persons of interest have been in this area recently?” Winne asked Porter.

“We do,” Porter said. “We believe with them being on foot through that time that there’s a good possibility they may still be in the area or live in the area.”
Snow said when she heard sirens the night of July 16, something in her heart told her something was wrong with Jamari.
“I just took off running to make sure that nothing was going on with my son, to find out that my son got shot and killed,” Snow said. “Jamari was a ball of joy. He would make anybody, and everybody laugh. So lovable.”
Snow said she prays that someone can identify the three young men in the pictures Clayton County police have so investigators can get answers and so that whoever killed Richardson can be brought to justice.
“It would give me peace knowing that they’re off the street and they can’t hurt anybody else,” Snow said.
“Anything we can do to prevent a similar crime from happening in the area, our agency’s committed to doing that,” Porter said.
Porter said the three persons of interest are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
“You’re not saying they’re guilty, but you want to talk to them?” Winne asked Porter.
“Absolutely. We don’t want to just snatch people off the street, but we believe that they might have information about this investigation that might help us bring justice for the family,” Porter said.
Snow said her son was supposed to start a new job at Zaxby’s the day after he was shot and killed.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the people of interest is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
You can remain anonymous and if your tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
