MARIETTA, Ga. — A crash that left a busy Marietta street shut down for several hours on Saturday morning left one person dead.
Marietta police say that just before 6:45 a.m., Santiago Zarate-Vicente, 32, of Chicago, Ill. was driving down Powder Springs Street near Laurel Springs Lane.

That’s when police say a 2007 Lexus RX350 being driven by an 18-year-old crossed the center line and crashed into Zarate-Vicente‘s Chevrolet Silverado.
Two passengers in the Silverado and the driver of the Lexus were taken to the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Zarate-Vicente died because of the injuries he sustained in the crash.
Police say no charges have been filed, but the crash is still under investigation.
