Terrell Loudermilk’s family lives in Tennessee. They told Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell that he was on his way home when police say some hit and killed him.
He had been involved in a minor accident with another tractor-trailer on I-75 northbound. The drivers had stopped and gotten out of their vehicles when Loudermilk was struck by a passing vehicle.
“He was just a sweet loving person, a sweet humble person,” said Thois Bentley, the victim’s aunt.
Police said the hit and run crash happened just after 2:30 Wednesday morning on I-75 Northbound at South Marietta Parkway.
The care package Loudermilk’s grandmother prepared for his return, is still sitting in her home.
“That’s why she had the care package for him because he was on his way home and she always fixed a care package for him,” Bentley said.
“He was self-motivated he had a big heart and he definitely loved his mom. I talked to his mother yesterday and she just kept saying he was my life and they were really close,” said Larry Bradford, the victim’s cousin.
Loudermilk’s family said throughout his education, he never missed a day of school.
“He went to college. He had a write up about him,” Bentley said.
They said he enjoyed taking care of his mother and grandmother. They said he was especially proud of his healthy lifestyle after losing over 200 pounds.
“He had a good heart. I don’t think I ever saw someone love their mom and grandma so much,” said Stephanie Harris, the victim’s cousin.
The family is pleading for the suspect to do the right thing and call police.
“You took a life of a good person,” Harris said.
The family created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
