MARIETTA, Ga. — The suspect in a deadly hit-and-run that killed a truck driver has been arrested, according to jail records.

Christopher Bradshaw, 48, of Canton, has been charged with homicide by vehicle and felony hit and run.
Working through his attorney, Bradshaw turned himself in to the Cobb County Jail on Friday.
Police told Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell that Bradshaw was a police lieutenant with the Milton Police Department.
According to records, Bradshaw was terminated on Monday. He had been with the Milton Police Department since 2011 and had a short stint with the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The Milton Police Department sent the following statement to Channel 2 Action News regarding Bradshaw’s arrest:
The Milton Police Department has been informed that one of its lieutenants, Christopher Bradshaw, a 14-year veteran of the department, has been arrested by the Marietta Police Department in connection with a hit-and-run crash that tragically claimed the life of a motorist in Marietta, Georgia. The incident occurred while Bradshaw was off duty.
Upon our initial notification of the investigation, Bradshaw was immediately placed on administrative leave and has since been terminated from employment with the City of Milton.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time. While we cannot provide further comment due to the ongoing investigation being led by the Marietta Police Department, we remain committed to transparency, accountability, and maintaining the trust of our community.

Earlier Friday, investigators found and impounded the Chevy Silverado truck believed to be involved in a deadly hit-and-run.
The incident happened on Wednesday around 2:30 a.m. on I-75 northbound at South Marietta Parkway.
Terrell Lowdermilk, 36, was killed.
During the incident, police said Lowdermilk was hit by a truck while exiting his own car to swap insurance after a vehicle collision.
Lowdermilk’s family spoke with Channel 2 Cobb County Bureau Chief Michele Newell on Thursday, describing him as a “sweet loving person, a sweet humble person.”
The Silverado’s driver left the scene after hitting Lowdermilk, police said.
The family created a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses.
