“She has severe PTSD, she cannot be left alone right now,” her daughter, Jerricah Hancock, told Channel 2’s Tom Regan.
Redell Patterson, Lee’s boyfriend, recounted the incident. He was driving the vehicle with her in the passenger seat.
“I’ve never witnessed something like that,” he said. “The injuries on her face?”
He explained a work truck passed them and the pry bar came flying off.
“She actually thought she got shot,” Patterson said. “I guess you could say it was like a big bullet.”
The family is urging the Georgia State Patrol to check if any highway cameras captured the incident to help identify the truck involved.
Hancock emphasized the preventability of the incident, stating,
“It takes just two seconds to make sure everything is secure,” she said.
The family has set up a GoFundMe to help with Lee’s medical care.
