DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — Police confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that the man they say killed a woman and a 7-year-old girl at a DeKalb County apartment complex on Friday afternoon is now in custody.
Officers were called to an apartment complex on Columbia Drive just off Interstate 20 just after 2:45 p.m. on Friday.

The victims have been identified as Tomika Pullins, 29, and Dior Scott, 7.
Witnesses told police the suspect, William Almond, 48, was trying to get into the apartment.
DeKalb County PD identified Along as the girl’s uncle and the estranged husband of Pullins.
When he was not allowed in, they say he broke a window and fired multiple shots inside, hitting both victims. Lewis was last seen running away from the scene.

Police confirmed that they were able to track Almond in the car that he fled the apartment complex in and arrested him.
In a statement, DeKalb police thanked the hard work of their detectives for capturing Almond so quickly.
DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson issued a statement Friday, saying in part:
“I want to thank the DeKalb County Police Department for its swift and diligent work in apprehending the suspect in this heartbreaking case. Their thorough investigation was instrumental in identifying these familial relationships and ensuring that the suspect was brought into custody. Our hearts are with the loved ones of Tomika and Dior. No family should ever have to endure such an unthinkable tragedy. As a mother and as your CEO, I grieve alongside our community and extend my deepest condolences to all those affected. We remain committed to pursuing justice and providing support to the family in their time of need.”
