DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — One man is dead after a shooting near Stone Mountain.
Police were called out to Pennybrook Lane shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound in the driveway of the home.
The suspected shooter, Francis Whyte, 42, remained at the scene and is now facing malice murder charges and has been taken to the DeKalb County Jail.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim yet because they still need to notify family members.
The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
