DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — At least one child died and six other people were injured in a major crash on Interstate 20 Monday. Of the six injured, three people are in critical condition.
The crash happened in the westbound lanes around 2:15 a.m. before the Turner Hill Road exit in DeKalb County.

DeKalb County Fire spokesman Capt. Jaeson Daniels said firefighters responded to a multi-vehicle crash with people trapped. Daniels said seven people were taken for medical treatment.
“Tragically, one juvenile did not survive,” Daniels said.
Three patients are in critical condition and the other three patients had moderate injuries. Police and fire officials have not released any of the victims’ names or ages.
The lanes reopened around 6 a.m.
