Police say the driver did not stop after the crash.
The victim’s boyfriend was able to describe the truck and police tracked it a short distance away, where the driver was making a delivery.
“I can’t see how they would hit this person and not know,” neighbor JR Camp told Channel 2’s Tom Regan.

The driver made what police describe as “somewhat of an admission” and was taken into custody.
Neither the victim nor the driver have been identified.
Neighbors say this area of Brookhaven has a lot of pedestrian traffic, which can be dangerous when drivers are impatient or aggressive.
“You have to be very vigilant,” Baillie Brindle said. “You have to keep your eyes open.”
