A Douglas County jury convicted Christian Dejerinett, 21, Jermonie Suttles, 23, and Dion Williams, 47, for killing Corey Myers.

Myers was shot and killed in his apartment during an apparent home invasion on June 7, 2022.

The Douglas County District Attorney’s Office said, while on the phone with 911, Myers began to whisper. He told the operator that he had a gun, and he asked to stay on the line until police arrived. Moments later, while still on the call, the suspects kicked down his door and shot him. The victim told the dispatcher that he had been shot in the chest.

Myers later died at the hospital.

Cell phone location data confirmed that Moore, Dejerinett, and Suttles were in the area at the time of the murder.

The DA said, detectives found Facebook and text messages between Myers and Williams. In these messages, Williams threatened Myers and accused the victim of stealing drug money. Officials say Williams told Myers that he would be the last person that he would ever steal from, and Williams would show him “his reach.” Williams sent Myers’ address to Dejerinett and told the victim that they were coming.
