VALDOSTA, Ga. — A soft lockdown at Valdosta State University in south Georgia has been lifted, university officials confirmed.
Officials posted on the university’s social media that there was a potential threat on the campus, prompting a lockdown.
They say the university went on a soft lockdown at 12:45 p.m. after a “possible active shooter threat.”
The lockdown was lifted and all clear was given at 2:15 p.m.

About 50 law enforcement officers from Valdosta Police Department, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and Remerton Police Department responded to the campus, the university confirmed.
The campus has returned to normal operations.
