SNELLVILLE, Ga. — A 26-year-old man has been identified as the victim of a homicide that caused a crash into a Snellville home Sunday night.
Gerryon Ceasor was identified by Snellville Police as the victim. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the homicide investigation that, so far, has remained in a mystery in many ways.
“There was evidence that shots were fired,” Det. Jeff Manley said. “I’m not sure if the victim died from blunt force trauma from the accident or if the victim died from being shot.”

Mason Watkins said he was upstairs playing video games Sunday at around 5:30 at night when he heard a series of loud bangs. At first, he thought they were fireworks, but a final, more powerful blast shook his house.
He looked outside and saw neighbors gathering, urging him to come out. When he stepped outside with his dog, he found a chaotic scene.
“This is something you see on TV, not something that happens in real life,” Watkins said.

Watkins’s sister says they hoped Ceasor would be able to survive the incident.
“He was still alive when people called 911,” Tiffanie Mann said. “He was responsive, but by the time first responders arrived, he was pronounced dead at the scene.”
When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had veered off the road at high speed and crashed through a brick wall, coming to rest inside the home. The driver was dead when officers approached.
Investigators have not identified a suspect. Authorities are reviewing surveillance video from the neighborhood, and using license plate reader cameras.
The crash caused significant damage to the home, cracking ceilings and walls and shifting furniture. Officials said the homeowners could stay, but Mann said she didn’t feel safe bringing her children back.
“The fire department still has to check if it’s safe, but I’m not taking any chances,” she said.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact police or the GBI.
