Homicide investigation underway after man crashes car into Snellville home

SNELLVILLE, Ga. — The Snellville Police Department says they are investigating a shooting call in the city.

Det. Jeff Manley with Snellville police told Channel 2 Action News they received a shots fired call just before 6 p.m. this evening in the area of Englewood Way near Long Street.

When police arrived on scene, they found a vehicle that crashed into a home. Inside of the vehicle, a man was found dead.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to assist Snellville police, in what they’re calling a murder.

A witness told Channel 2 Action News he was upstairs and heard gunshots and seconds later the house shook and part of the car was in the living room.

“I hear three little bangs. I was like what was that,” witness Mason Watkins asked.

That’s when Watkins ran outside and noticed part of a BMW in the living room.

“I (ran) outside and the tape came up and it was a crime scene,” Watkins explained.

Snellville police and the GBI are working to learn who fired the shots.
