GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A shooting in Hall County left a man dead and a woman hurt, according to police.

According to Hall County police, it happened Monday morning at the corner of Athens Street and West Ridge Road.
When officers arrived, they found a man and woman with gunshot wounds. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman is currently listed as stable.
Officials ask citizens to seek an alternate route as Athens Street at West Ridge Road remains closed.
The victims’ ages and identities were not released. No word on when the road will be reopened.
Anyone with information is asked to contact GPD or submit a tip online.
The investigation is ongoing.
