ATLANTA — A man is dead after a shooting at a southwest Atlanta home on Monday morning.
The shooting happened around 4 a.m. on New Hope Road. Channel 2’s Bryan Mims reported from the scene as police put up crime scene tape on Channel 2 Action News This Morning.

Lt. Andrew Smith told Mims that the shooting happened in the garage. The victim, who was shot once, walked a short distance onto the driveway and collapsed. He died at the scene.
Smith said the victim’s uncle who lives nearby called 911 after someone at the house called him.

Police do not have information on a motive or description of any suspect. It does not appear the man lived at this house, Smith said.
Police are reviewing Ring camera video and talking with the “very limited” witnesses they have.
Investigators inside the home found narcotics and guns, but did not say if it’s related to a motive for the shooting.
