PHILADELPHIA — The 2026 MLB Draft is officially underway in Philadelphia. The first four rounds will last through the end of Saturday night with Rounds 5-20 set for Sunday.

The Atlanta Braves have five picks on Saturday (No. 9, No. 26, No. 48, No. 84 and No. 112). And then there’s the local talent from Georgia college and high school baseball teams hoping to hear their name called.

ATLANTA BRAVES PICKS
- No. 9: AJ Gracia, OF, University of Virginia
- No. 26: Carter Beck, CF, Indiana State
- No. 48: Kaiden McCarthy, P, Vermont Academy
- No. 84: Jensen Hirschkorn, P, Kingsburg HS (California)
- No. 112: Cole Dennis, P, Bishop Snyder HS (Florida)
LOCAL TALENT TAKEN EARLY
Gwinnett County native and Georgia Tech star Vahn Lackey is heading to Minnesota. The Twins drafted the Johnny Bench Award winner with the No. 3 overall pick.
Another Yellow Jacket came off the board early with the No. 8 overall pick. The Athletics selected outfielder Drew Burress, a Warner Robins native and Lackey’s Georgia Tech teammate.
Etowah High School’s Trevor Condon was the first Georgia high school player drafted on Saturday. The St. Louis Cardinals selected Georgia’s Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year with the No. 13 overall pick.
Daniel Jackson, the Golden Spikes Award winner, became the first Georgia Bulldog off the draft board. The Colorado Rockies selected the Sandy Springs native and catcher with the No. 37 pick.
