NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. — A small aircraft made an emergency landing Wednesday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

It happened around 9:11 a.m. in Newton County.
Officials said a small plane made an emergency landing on a field in the area of McDonald Road and Bates Road.
Authorities said two people were on board, but neither sustained any injuries. Their ages and identities were not released.
The sheriff’s office said there was no damage to the plane.
Federal Aviation Administration officials told Channel 2 Action News that pilot of a Cessna 150 reported an engine issue and landed in a field in Covington, Ga., prompting the emergency response.
According to the FAA, they will be investigating the incident.
