SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs police have released body camera video of the moment dozens of shots were fired at officers inside a home last month, leaving one of them injured.
Officers were responding to a home on Carroll Manor Drive on October 14 for reports of shots fired.
Newly released body camera video shows several officers in the hallway of a home when gunfire can be heard. Police then returned fire on the suspect.

One officer was grazed by a bullet on the thumb. He survived his injury.
The body camera video also shows the moment the injured officer alerted his fellow officers that he had been hurt, but was OK.
That’s when police say the man barricaded himself inside a room in the home.

Channel 2’s Sophia Choi was outside the home as the standoff continued.
After hours of negotiation, the suspect, whose identity has not been released, gave up and laid down at the front door before SWAT put him in handcuffs.
Both the officer and suspect were taken to the hospital.
