ETOWAH COUNTY, Ga. — A man is facing capital murder charges after a Roswell couple was shot and killed in Alabama on Tuesday evening.
Deputies in Etowah County, Alabama were called to a shooting where they found a man and a woman who had been shot. They were identified as Darla McKenzie, 68, and Michael McKenzie, 72.

Darla McKenzie was airlifted to a Birmingham hospital where she was pronounced dead. Michael McKenzie was pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators say they identified Christopher Scott Johnson as the suspect and found him shortly after.
Johnson is currently being held in the Etowah County Jail.

Detectives have not commented on whether Johnson knew the couple or what led to the shooting.
