Clayton County Sheriff Levon Allen told Channel 2 Action News that around 3:33 a.m. deputies tried to pull a driver in a stolen Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.
The driver took off. Minutes later, one of the deputies performed a PIT maneuver. The truck stopped just south of Langford Parkway to end the vehicle chase.
Allen said the suspect got out of the truck and tried to run on the interstate, but was hit by a vehicle. He died at the scene.
The sheriff said the suspect’s driver license came back as suspended and it had been suspended at least 12 times.
