ATLANTA — After a wet weekend and additional rain falling, we are now dealing with a flood watch across most of north Georgia until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon says the ground is already saturated in many areas, and we could see an additional 1 to 3 inches of rainfall before nightfall Tuesday.

The rain that falls this evening could be heavy in spots. We will continue to have more rain as we get to the later part of the workweek, so those flooding concerns could be extended.

The rain and cool breezes have kept temperatures in the upper 60s for many areas today. In Atlanta, the last time the temperature didn’t hit at least 70 degrees in August was August 17, 2013.

More showers and storms are in the forecast for later this week as temperatures start to warm back up.
