ATLANTA — The severe storms have moved out, but there is still the possibility of isolated showers or a pop-up storm this evening.
“As we head toward 11 p.m. and beyond, there is no threat for rain. We’ll have some clouds overnight and into Tuesday morning,” Severe Weather Team Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

The storms that rolled through North Georgia earlier in the day downed trees and powerlines.
Severe Thunderstorm and Tornado Warnings were issued throughout the day as well.

2:24 p.m.
Ground stop at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport extended.
2:10 p.m.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Rabun County until 3:15 p.m.
Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Greene, Morgan, and Putnam counties until 3:00 p.m.
2 p.m.
Damage reports now coming in for trees down in some metro Atlanta counties.
1:28 p.m.
Tornado warnings dropped for Henry, Newton and Rockdale counties.
1:24 p.m.
Severe Thunderstorm Warnings in effect for Butts, Clarke, DeKalb, Greene, Henry, Jasper, Lamar, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Putnam, Rockdale and Walton counties until 2:15 p.m.
1:15 p.m.
Tornado Warnings issued for Henry, Newton, and Rockdale counties until 1:45 p.m.

Tornado Warnings dropped for metro area counties.

A new Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for northwest Georgia and parts of metro Atlanta until 1 p.m.
Bartow, Carroll, Cherokee, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Whitfield counties

The line of strong to severe thunderstorms is making their way through Alabama.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued until 1 p.m. for Chattooga County, Ga. and Cleburne and Randolph counties in Ala., which are in the Channel 2 Action News viewing area.
The watch is also in effect for Catoosa, Dade and Walker, Ga. counties.
